“That’s the one I regret not doing”: Mark Cuban’s Only Shark Tank Regret Was Not Investing in The Bouqs Co.
The Bouqs Company made an appearance during the fifth season of Shark Tank. This was a unique startup as they provided flower delivery services. Although it failed to catch the attention of the Sharks then, The Bouqs Company is a huge name now. The Bouqs Company, who graced the Shark Tank stage in Season 5, offered a unique direct flower delivery from flower to consumer, without any middlemen.
According to ABC News, the company’s co-founder, John Tabis, admitted that the flower-delivery chain is long and complicated. However, The Bouqs Company offered better quality flowers at a reasonable cost without additional delivery charges.
The idea was undoubtedly tempting, but the Shark Barbara Corcoran backed out claiming that she hated the company name as it was too complicated. On the other hand, Lori Greiner refused to invest stating that the market lacks boundaries for competitors who can enter and replicate the business model. Additionally, many Sharks also felt that the offer of 3% ownership in exchange for an investment of $258,000 was unreasonable.
